HOCO NU OVERVIEW

Howard County Neighbors United, Inc. is a 501 (c)(4) non-partisan research and advocacy organization committed to ensuring the comprehensive improvement and long-term sustained excellence of the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS).

 

Howard County’s $1 billion public education system is one of its most precious assets, and the goal of Howard County Neighbors United, Inc. is to safeguard its future by keeping Howard County residents informed and engaged in the election of their local representatives, by providing transparency to the processes and decisions that impact HCPSS, by encouraging accountability for HCPSS and Howard County government leadership, and by collaboratively supporting activities that provide tailored and equitable assistive tools and resources to HCPSS students and schools.

SPECIFIC GOALS

 

The specific objectives of Howard County Neighbors United, Inc. are to:

 

  1. Inform, engage and mobilize the public on HCPSS-related local elections and issues.

     

  2. Provide transparency to administrative, legislative, and financial processes that impact on HCPSS and encourage accountability for appointed and elected county representatives involved in HCPSS-related decisions.

     

  3. Collaboratively facilitate and mobilize support for activities that provide tailored and equitable assistive tools and resources to HCPSS students.
