Why did Howard County Executive Calvin Ball block the public release of over 1350 emails that fell within search parameters for a Maryland Public Information Act request that asked for all correspondence between him and a local developer lobbyist?
Shown on page 18-19 of this recently-released Howard County “Housing Opportunities Master Plan” report are some of the HCPSS school metric-linked recommendations by County Executive Ball’s Housing Opportunities Master Plan Task Force.
Are these developers, land-use attorneys/lobbyists and partisan political public-affairs groups truly championing expanded affordable housing and socio-economic based redistricting out of the goodness of their hearts? Could the 3 P’s of Politics, Power and Profit be the true motivators driving their actions?
Over the past 8 months, there have been some serious email leaks coming from the HCPSS Board of Education. that have been extremely harmful to private citizens, to this past Fall’s redistricting process, and to the personal and professional livelihood of fellow Board members and their families.
